Prison Ministry Outreach ultimate goal is to reduce the recidivism rate of offenders; to aid in the restoration of their lives through the infusion of intellectual, emotional and spiritual influence that is directed to help them discard harmful patterns and unhealthy attitudes, avoid addictive and destructive relationships and behavior, stay out of prison, and become positive contributors to society; reaching those impacted by incarceration (offender, release, family, and the community).
The ministry’s primary focus is to equip individuals in the ministry and provide practical avenues to ex-offenders for re-entering society.
Along with the mending power of the Gospel, we must point these lives in the direction of their destiny. As a result, they can return to their families as role models, to the church as a gift to the Body of Christ, and to the community as evidence of the love, power, and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Senior Pastor Gregory McCurry also mentors with the Federal Bureau of Prison’ Faith –Based Residential Re-Entry Program “The Life Connections Program “ (LCP) and Threshold Programs offer inmates the opportunity to improve critical life areas within the context of their personal faith or value system. LCP is a multi-faith residential reentry program that is available at five sites across the country at low, medium, and high security levels. It is an intensive, multi-phase program which instills values and character through a curriculum of personal, social and moral development. The LCP program utilizes various faith communities nationwide who serve as support group facilitators or mentors at program sites and release destinations to enhance community reintegration. Reentry preparation for inmates not eligible for the residential LCP is also offered through the Threshold program that also seeks to strengthen inmate community reentry.
